Rotary of Roseville, CA - Service Above Self

List of Projects

The following are among the many community service projects funded either partially or completely by the Club.

Miles of Smiles Dental Program
A n annual program which provides free dental screening and services for hundreds of students in second and fifth grades at a number of Roseville City School District elementary schools classified as having significant low-income populations. And it’s all thanks to the unique partnership of four entities that started in 2001: The Sacramento District Dental Society, Placer County’s Health and Human Services Dept., Roseville City Schools, and of course The Rotary Club of Roseville.

The Rotary Club of Roseville helps provide funding and organizational assistance in moving equipment,
processing paperwork and organizing the effort, said Scott Otsuka, Rotary’s Community Services
Director who is again in charge of organizing it this year.

The program is about more than pretty smiles. Access to dental care is children’s No. 1 health problem
in Placer County, officials say. And left untreated, dental problems can manifest in behavioral and
academic problems.

Family Green Survival™
A program of personal practices, is designed to show deep personal commitment to ‘green living’ and to help develop knowledge and empathy for the world’s low income and poor population by eating like they do. Go to website.
